Study Massage - Face to Face verses On-line Study

In today’s fast-paced lifestyle, the pressure to keep pace with the competition and the demands of an increasingly demanding corporate world, it is inevitable that fatigue and stress will be experienced. There is no doubt that relief for this stress, tension and the resulting muscle and tissue aches can be relieved by way of massage. The need for massage to soothe the aches and pains produced by a demanding work regime is not going away anytime soon. That’s why you’ll see plenty of people offering massage courses online.

Now I don’t know about you, but I believe that the study of massage needs to be a hands-on experience right from the word go. Sure, there is plenty of theory you can pick up online, but the real essence of massage has to be acquired with the massage student getting plenty of hands on training in a massage clinic with experienced massage practitioners on hand to guide and educate.

Every massage client has different needs and the massage therapist has to ask questions, listen carefully to what the patient is saying and adjust the massage technique and pressure based on feedback accordingly. You just can’t get that sort of experience from an on-line course.

The effectiveness of a massage training course cannot be determined by a mere exam or exchange of feedback communicated via email or phone call. Obviously, no online training can prove to be as effective as a hands-on study of massage in a massage clinic with experienced and caring trainers.

After the completion of any online massage study course, the student has to get out in the real world and acquire the practical experience they will need to be able to secure a rewarding position as a massage therapist for a clinic, spa, hospital, fitness centre or even in a shopping mall.
